Metal Goddesses Hall of Fame was launched in June, 2018 and showcases the greatest female metal musicians of all time.

Dorothee Pesch


Doro is notable for being the former frontwoman of the German heavy metal band Warlock. Dubbed the “Queen of Heavy Metal”, Doro’s contributions to music and culture along with her publicized personal life made her a global figure in metal culture for over three decades. She has worked with Amon Amarth, Motörhead, Twisted Sister, Tarja Turunen, After Forever and many more. To this date (June 24, 2018), she has released sixteen studio albums, the latest being Raise Your Fist in 2012. Doro continues her recording career and is prolific touring artist all over the world.

Sharon Janny den Adel

Within Temptation

Sharon den Adel is best known as the lead vocalist and one of the main songwriters in the Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation. She has been a performing musician since the age of 14, and is a founding member of Within Temptation, along with Robert Westerholt, in 1996. She was also elected to be the Dutch representative of the jury for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest.

Cristina Adriana Chiara Scabbia


Cristina Scabbia is best known as one of the two vocalists in the Italian gothic metal band Lacuna Coil. During her career she has also worked with many other rock/metal acts such as Megadeth, Tarja Turunen, Apocalyptica  and Alter Bridge. With Lacuna Coil she has released eight studio albums, two compilation albums and one live album.

Angela Nathalie Gossow


Angela Gossow is a German vocalist, best known as the former lead vocalist for the Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy. Her other previous bands include Asmodina and Mistress. She is considered to be one of the few successful female metal singers to use growling as her primary singing style. With Arch Enemy, Asmodina and Mistress she has released eight studio albums, three extended play records, one live album and six demos. She has also worked Annihilator, Doro Pesch and Astarte.

Tarja Soile Susanna Turunen


Tarja Soile Susanna Turunen-Cabuli, known professionally as Tarja Turunen or simply Tarja, is a Finnish singer-songwriter. She is a soprano and has a vocal range of three octaves.
Turunen studied singing at Sibelius Academy and Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe. She is a professional classical lied singer, and the former lead vocalist of the Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish, which she founded with Tuomas Holopainen and Emppu Vuorinen in 1996. Their combination of hard and fast guitar riffs with Turunen’s dramatic, “operatic” lead vocals quickly achieved critical and commercial popularity. Their symphonic metal style, soon dubbed “opera metal”, inspired many other metal bands and performers. With Nightwish she has released five studio albums, four compilation albums, two live albums, three video albums one extended play record. As a solo artist she has released seven studio albums, and three live albums.
