The new album of symphonic death metal act MaYan is on the way. A live symphonic orchestra will be part of the new adventure, intensifying the sounds of MaYan´s 3rd studio record.
“With our profound love for epic movie scores, it has been our dream to incorporate real strings, brass and percussion into our music and have written each new track to be amplified with the sounds of an orchestra,” explains the band.
The band has launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to make their dreams come true. You can help them by purchasing amazing perks such as a bike ride with Mark Jansen, Skype lesson with Merel Bechtold, or you can attend an exclusive listening session in Sandlane Studios in Rijen, NL and even orchestra recordings in Prague with the famous Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
“We have been working on our heaviest and most epic record to date and are really happy with the results. The sounds will include the majesty and drama the orchestra brings, the brutality deep growls convey, together with raw, high and operatic vocals. This becomes a foundation for lyrics that reflect on conceptual themes such as remaining aware of our thoughts, removing egoic tendencies, and finding out who we truly are. We wrote these songs with the orchestra in mind, knowing it will add the drama and intensity we want to express these themes.”
The title, cover artwork and release date are already known. “Dhyana” will come out September 21.
Alongside the album, MaYan are releasing their first EP, as well. “Undercurrent” is a selection of songs recorded with the same high quality as those in the album, and highlighted with the special place they deserve. Together, both album and EP create one complete MaYaN collection. This EP is a campaign exclusive and won´t be available anywhere else.
MaYan band members have recorded a thank you video for all those who have already backed their campaign. Watch it below.
