Spanish melodic death metal band goes separate ways with their vocalist Estefanía “Steffi” García.
„Today is an inflection point for [In Mute], with our partner Steffy making this decision. We’ll never forget all these years fighting together, the memories, the laughs and tears, the kms and hours without sleeping; definitely, everything lived side by side. From the other part in the band (Cristobal, Pedro, Adrián and Mike) we wish our friend the best, and we hope she won’t wait too long to hit the stage again,” states the band on their social media.
The Spanish melodic death metal band was founded in 2003 with Estefanía García replacing their previous singer in 2010. The band debuted with album “Aeternum” in 2009, followed by EP “One In A Million” – the first material with Steffi on vocals – published in June 2012. Two years later, In Mute released their very first video for their single “Waiting” taken from “One In A Million” EP.
Also in 2014, In Mute won the Spanish “Wacken Metal Battle” and got to perform at the Wacken Open Air in Germany. Their latest album “Gea” was released in 2017 via Art Gates Records.
„On our side, we keep going with the same power and illusion of the first day. We have an important thing to announce in the following days, we ensure you that this doesn’t stop and that we will fulfil all the commitments we have in 2019,“ announced the band.
As for Steffi, her musical journey isn’t anywhere near the end. She says: “I want to clarify that this doesn’t mean I’m leaving music behind, but I’ll take some time to recharge the batteries and I’ll come back with a new project that I would like all of you to be part of. So stay tuned, because soon you’ll know more.”
The last two farewell shows with Steffi will take place in early 2019. More details to be announced.
