International all-female collaborative metal project Chaos Rising unveiled new doom song titled “The Greatness Beyond”. Listen to it below.
Chaos Rising is the unique project that brings together women metal musicians from across the world. The collaboration is going from strength to strength, with their latest song and video, doom metal anthem “The Greatness Beyond”, their most ambitious yet. The dual vocals from Anika Ov Mosberg (Virocracy) and Imke von Helden (Realm Of Chaos) tell the story of a person in despair, running away from their home towards the sea where they are able to express their thoughts. With riffs by Chaos Rising guitarist Catherine Fearns and featuring a unique wind intro and interlude from clarinetist/saxophonist Laura Bethge-Meyer, “The Greatness Beyond” bass is played by Tina Gruschwitz (Demorphed), with drums all the way from Australia (Renee Cobcroft, Sidechick).
Chaos Rising is blazing a trail, and not only by providing opportunities for women and gender minorities to become involved in all aspects of metal music. These girls are innovating fast, exemplifying how musicians are networking to adapt and create amidst current challenges.
