Michalina Malisz drops a gurdy cover of The Witcher theme song

Hurdy gurdy wizard Michalina Malisz of Eluveitie is back with a new Youtube video. After a few playthroughs for tracks off Eluveitie’s latest album “Ategnatos”, she’s dropping a killer gurdy cover of a theme song of more and more popular fantasy series “The Witcher”. You can listen to her “Geralt of Rivia theme song” cover below.

Initially fantasy series of novels and short stories from the pen of Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, “The Witcher” soon turned the world of role-play games, film and graphic novels upside down. The saga revolves around the witcher Geralt of Rivia, a beast hunter with supernatural abilities, and princess Ciri, a child of destiny.

Coming from Poland and being a long-time fan Sapkowski’s cult works, it’s only natural that Michalina chose to record her take on the theme song of one of the most popular TV shows right now. To raise the bar of epicness even higher, Michalina shot a video for her cover at the site of Ogrodzieniec castle in Poland, which you may know as Sodden castle from the TV series. Enjoy!

“”The Witcher” has a soundtrack full of hurdy gurdy and it’s awesome! Here’s a cover of the main theme, “Geralt of Rivia”, filmed in Ogrodzieniec, where the battle of Sodden was filmed.”
