Volturian – Broken (Music Video)

Volturian, new modern metal band of Federica Lanna of Sleeping Romance and Federico Mondelli of Frozen Crown, drop the second piece off of their debut album. The song is called “Broken” and it comes with a music video. Watch it below.

Founded by Federica and songwriter Federico Mondelli of Italian power metal band Frozen Crown, Volturian’s music is based on the huge contrast between mellow, dreamy female vocals and heavy downtuned guitar riffs, with a massive infusion of electronic music.

Lanna’s pristine and ethereal vocals move fluently between slow paced groovy songs and rigid, industrial inspired hymns, held together by Mondelli’s Swedish death metal oriented guitar riffs (early 2000 In Flames and Soilwork) and by the powerful and precise drumming of the young talent Alberto Mezzanotte. Keyboards add a fundamental layer to Volturian’s music, ranging from new wave to 90’s Europop to obscure gothic atmospheres. Volturian’s line-up is completed by bass player Massimiliano Rossi.

Federica on “Broken”: “I am really proud to present you “Broken”, our new single.  Proud to say we made this despite the bad situation we’re living in. When months ago we thought about our first official video, it was very different in our minds, but right now we feel this is just as perfect as it could be.”

Following “New Life”, “Broken” is the second single taken from Volturian’s debut “Crimson”, due out April 24th via Scarlet Records in Europe and the US and via Marquee Avalon in Japan.
