Finnish metal band Smackbound unveils a music video for “Wind And Water”. Watch it below.
The band’s story started back in 2015 when the singer & actress Netta Laurenne founded the group. Guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari (Wintersun) was the first to join the line-up and soon followed Rolf Pilve (Stratovarius, The Dark Element) on drums, Vili Itäpelto (Tracedawn) on keyboards and Tuomas Yli-Jaskari (Tracedawn) on bass. “Wind And Water” is the closing track of their debut album “20/20” that came out last year in June.
Smackbound’s “Wind And Water” was filmed in an empty office space in Helsinki, Finland. The idea and script for the video was singer Netta Laurenne’s vision where she tried to capture both the beauty and the pain of love that surpasses both time and space.
Explains Netta: ”It is a song about a sacred love towards another soul. It is a love affair you have seemingly lost in this physical world, but keep feeling as infinite. To me, it’s saying: I love you in this life and the next.”
Director Lauri Hämäläinen captured the idea perfectly and was able to realize the infinity aspect with lightning and other technical decisions he made both in the set and in post-production.
