US-based gothic/melodic metal act with an operatic touch Oryad will drop their 6-track debut EP later this month. Find details below.
Oryad is a gothic, melodic metal ensemble of four classically trained musicians from Denver that deliver an intense marriage of metal and classical music. They weave the literary, gothic, and mythical imagery of various traditions into classical homages and pure electric shredding. Oryad’s influnces include such well-known artists as Oceans of Slumber, Nightwish, Epica, Seven Spires, Evanescence, Chelsea Wolfe, Black Sabbath, Gregorian Chant, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff and Bach.
Soprano and keyboardist Moira Murphy brings her international operatic stage experience to lead their unique sound. Joining her is Luca Grieman on guitars, multi-instrumentalist Adam Sanders on bass, and Matt Gotlin-Sheehan (of Hydraform) on drums.
Oryad’s 6-track debut EP, “Hymns Of Exile & Decay, will be available on all streaming
platforms on June 25, 2021 featuring: Inflammatus, Black Is The Color Of My True Love’s Hair, Immersion, Doxology, Sacrifice and Hymn Of The End.
