“Mayday” is the name of a brand new collaboration of members of Lacuna Coil and Rezophonic.
Rezophonic is an Italian musical project organized by Mario Riso, raising money for the African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF). Founded in 2006, the collaborative project has already three full-length albums out. Lacuna Coil’s Cristina Scabbia, Andrea Ferro, Marco Coti Zelati and ex-guitarist Maus have contributed to the project already before.
“Rezophonic is a musical project that involves more than a hundred artists from the underground, mainly the rock scene. Now it involves more people even from different scenes, even the very big Italian artists,” explained Scabbia a few years back.
All the funds are used for constructing wells, water supplies and schools in Africa, and artists who participate in this project have their names displayed on one of the wells. Cristina said: “I have a picture of my well because they gave it a name of an artist who participated. It’s awesome. It’s funny because they wrote my name wrong.”
