Gone In April – Power To Heal (Lyric Video)

Canadian symphonic death metal band Gone in April has released a lyric video for the song “Power to Heal”. Watch it below.

The song is taken from their third album, “Shards of Light”, released in September 2019, just before they toured North America as direct support for Eluveitie and Korpiklaani. “Power to Heal” is one of the most aggressive songs of the album, with fast technical guitar and bass riffs, mixed with energetic drumming and elegant melodies.

The video brings the viewer inside the walls of many hospitals: from old makeshift war hospitals to today’s establishments. “Many of us in the band have either worked in healthcare, or have close family that do”, says drummer Yanic Bercier. “In Power to Heal, we put ourselves in the shoes of a physician, experiencing both the victories and the struggles attached to the profession.”

“Everyday, we witness the dedication of the healthcare workers, their courage, their sacrifice, and the battles they have to face. 2020 has tested us all, but it has been especially hard on them. We wish to take this opportunity to thank all the healthcare workers who continue to produce miracles and who give so much of themselves on a daily basis.”

The video was created by videographer Wayne Joyner who has worked with bands such as Mayan, Dream Theater, and Ayreon. Gone in April musicians are now working on composition for their fourth studio album.
