Nita Strauss shares details of her debut solo album, releases the first single

American guitar player Nita Straus (Alice Cooper Band, The Iron Maidens, Femme Fatale) has announced details of her debut solo album. It’s called “Controlled Chaos” and will be released on November 16 via Sumerian Records.

For her debut solo album, Nita Strauss signed a deal with Sumerian Records, even though she intended to release it independently at first, in order to keep creative control of her music and do what’s best for other bands she is involved with now or in the future. “Many labels I spoke to insisted on owning a piece of everything I did, and that was just not something I was willing to consider.” However, Sumerian Records came with an amazing deal after the album was completely finished. “Their reach, distribution and support will help me make this grow more than I ever could have on my own, and most importantly, they believe in my solo music 100% with no contingencies.”

“Controlled Chaos” represents a wide variety of atmosphere and Nita’s personality: “From bright and fun to aggressive and dark, from peaceful to chaotic, this album is a way for me to give the listener a glimpse into my personality and what goes on inside my mind.”

“Producing and doing the majority of the engineering on this record myself was a challenge for me in so many ways and I learned A LOT about myself in the process but I am beyond overjoyed with how it came out!!!!!” says the acclaimed guitarist Strauss.

With “Controlled Chaos”, Strauss goes back to her beginnings and reconnects with what inspired her to start playing the guitar in the first place: “I started playing guitar because of instrumental guitar music. All my real heroes made instrumental albums. All my own career has been spent playing in bands, but I never forgot that dream of what inspired me to pick up the guitar in the first place.”

The first single off “Controlled Chaos” is “Our Most Desperate Hour”. You can watch the music video below.

And that’s not all the news! Nita has also announced her first ever tour as a solo artist.  You can see her on The Guitar Collective Tour 2018 alongside Angel Vivaldi starting in November. See the dates below.
