Swiss progressive trio Cellar Darling was formed in summer 2016 when Anna Murphy (vocals, hurdy-gurdy), Merlin Sutter (drums) and Ivo Henzi (guitars & bass) left the folk metallers Eluveitie. Ever since their debut album “This Is The Time” came out in 2017, the band claimed themselves to be storytellers. So, it’s not a surprise at all that Cellar Darling decided their sophomore album to be a concept album. “The Spell” dropped on March 22, and it’s telling a very dark, theatrical story of a nameless girl who falls in love with Death. If you want to know how the story ends, stream the entire album below.
