Sri Lanka’s metal act Shehara unveils a fiery music video for “Fidelity”. Watch it below.
Shehara is a singer/songwriter, screamer and growler from Piliyandala, Sri Lanka. She released her full-length debut album “Fountain of Memory” on the 28th of September in 2019 and the album became Sri Lanka’s first metal album to be released by a female. In 2020, Shehara announced the transition from being a solo artist to a full band and is therefore now Sri Lanka’s only metal band to be fronted by a female.
Last week, the band released a new music video for the song titled “Fidelity”. The video takes the viewer into the world of ‘inner self’ where Shehara is seen preparing to slay demons. The scenes show the vocalist going through the phases of anger & self-reflection before finally breaking the vicious cycle and destroying (more like slashing and incinerating) the darkness within.
The simple message is that if we don’t take the time to do the inner work and rid our souls of the darkness we’re too afraid to face, the world as we know it would fall and crumble.
