French melodic death metallers Akiavel unveil a music video for “Comrade” off of their new album “Væ Victis”. Watch it below.
“Comrade” is taken from Akiavel’s second album titled “Væ Victis”, a follow-up to 2020’s debut “V”. This concept album delves into the darkest parts of the human psyche and explores the depths of depravity of the most monstrous humans: serial killers. Further evolving their sound, Akiavel takes a radical approach to their musical assault, fully immersing the listener in the dark and twisted affair. “Væ Victis” embodies the word “death,” putting forth an intrusive battery of blistering guitars, pummeling drums, and scathing vocals that culminates in one of the most robust death metal records the genre has seen yet.
“Comrade” is based on the story of a Soviet serial killer Andrei Chikatilo known as the “Rostov Ripper” and the “Butcher of Rostov”, who sexually assaulted and murdered over 50 women and children between 1978 and 1990. Watch the brutal video:
