Canadian melodic death metal/metalcore band The Agonist is teasing a new album. It’s coming out in 2019.
The band’s been teasing new material for months now. The first updates regarding the songwriting sessions for a follow-up to 2016’s “Five” appeared in early 2018 and the band soon moved to Montreal based recording studio The Grid. Starting with drum tracking in June, all recordings were completed by mid-July.
Leaving successful 2018 behind, The Agonist entered a new year with huge plans. A new band promo picture with a description “we’re ready for you 2019” was published at the beginning of January, proving that the Canadian metallers are ready to present new material from their sixth studio album.
The vocalist Vicky Psarakis confirmed a new album release scheduled for 2019 back in December when she posted a picture from the studio with the following hashtags: #newalbum #2019 #theagonist on her Twitter.
Yesterday, what seems like a piece of lyrics of the first single (for which the band most probably shot a music video in November) and another picture of Vicky Psarakis in the studio appeared on their social media sites. No further details are known at the moment. We’ll keep you updated.
