Italian power metal band Kalidia drops orchestral version of their song “To The Darkness I Belong”, taken from their latest album “The Frozen Throne”.. Watch the lyric video below.
In 2018, the band signed a deal with Inner Wound Recordings, followed by their second studio album “The Frozen Throne” in November. It was produced, recorded and mixed by Lars Rettkowitz (Freedom Call) and mastered by Achim Kohler (Primal Fear, Amon Amarth, Brainstorm). Music on the album is inspired by classic power metal bands like Rhapsody of Fire, Hammerfall, Stratovarius and new bands like Beast In Black. “It’s a huge step ahead, compared to “Lies’ Device”,” says the vocalist Nicoletta Rosellini. “Better production, better arrangements and bombastic sound. The songs are still melodic and catchy as in the first album, but there are more hit songs in this album.”
Last summer, Kalidia released one more single, “Circle Of Six“, that was originally planned as a bonus track for “The Frozen Throne” album. It was inspired by the fantasy book “The Dwarves” from German author Markus Heitz.
The band now kicks off 2020 with a special orchestral version of “To The Darkness I Belong”. “The original version of “To The Darkness I Belong” is included on our latest album “The Frozen Throne” and quickly became a fan favorite once it was released. We decided to expand the orchestral elements in the song and tone down other elements, to give the fans this epic orchestral version of the song,” says the band.
