Each month, a lot happens in the world of women of metal. New albums, videos, tours and other interesting stuff. Naturally, it’s hard to keep up with all the news, and we don’t want you to miss anything important. Hence, we launched a monthly summary for you. Just like the previous month, October 2018 was filled with news of all sorts. Let’s analyse the past 31 days in detail.
ALBUMS
In terms of album announcements, October was quite interesting. Dutch metallers For I Am King announced their second studio album “I” and Jinjer shared some news about the upcoming “Micro” EP. Mexican vocalist and songwriter Marcela Bovio unveiled details of her new solo album “Through Your Eyes“. Romanian heavy metal outfit Scarlet Aura revealed details of “Hot ‘N Heavy” scheduled for release in December. As for the re-releases, Nightwish will reissue their game-changing “End Of An Era” show on BluRay and vinyl.
October gave us not only exciting announcements but also life to some amazing records. On October 19, Northward – a hard rock project of Floor Jansen (Nightwish) and Jørn Viggo Lofstad (Pagan’s Mind) – released its debut self-titled album. Amaranthe’s fifth studio album “Helix” was dropped on the same day. Norwegian Sirenia presented “Arcane Astral Aeons” just a week later on October 26. All three albums are available for streaming on our site.

OTHERS
In October, we introduced our very first Metal Goddesses quiz and dedicated it to one of the biggest metal bands of today – the almighty Arch Enemy. You can test your knowledge here. We presented women of metalcore and new songs from Delain and Within Temptation premiered on their recent live shows. All aspiring screamers could learn some useful tricks from Once Human’s vocalist Lauren Hart. Metal Goddesses also congratulated Nightwish on being inducted into the Finnish Hall of Fame as well as Epica’s guitarist Isaac Delahaye on launching College of Metal. We ended the month the way it deserved by welcoming spirits into our world with Halloween special and eerie thematic playlist.
And… that’s it! What a month it was! Let’s see what November has in store for us.
